The 2019 Fruit Sale sponsored by the Rotary Club of West Chester has begun!
Showing one the posters going up around town are (from left) Joyce Chester, executive director of OIC (Opportunities Industrialization Center), Catherine Friedman, Rotarian and executive director of Uptown!
Entertainment, and Gary Hess, Rotarian and board president of OIC. This year's fruit sale beneficiary is OIC, which provides workplace literacy, English as a second Language, and a  nursing program. "A working community is a healthy community," said Chester, who is passionate about her non-profit agency, which has just moved into a larger facility in Coatesville, and after renovations, will develop additional programs. "We help people go for their GED, then how to get and keep a job," she added.
The Rotary Club held this recent luncheon meeting at Uptown! Entertainment, where Catherine Friedman, the new executive director, welcomed Rotary club members. Fruit may be ordered through any West Chester Rotarian or by going to the Rotary website and following the fruit sale link. To use a credit card, go to http://FreshFruitOrder.org/WCRotaryFruitSale .
