Helping spread the word about the annual fruit sale are (from left) President Steve Brown, Greystone PTO Members, Marissa Cook and Kate Cipriano, Melissa Baxter, CPC chair, Kristen Buckler, Greystone PTO, and Christine Wildauer, serving again as fruit sale chair.

Proceeds from the Annual Fruit Sale by the Rotary Club of West Chester will benefit hundreds of children for many years. At its Community Philanthropic Committee meeting, members unanimously selected the Greystone Elementary PTO from among nearly a dozen applicants as beneficiaries of this year’s fruit sale.

Funds raised in this year’s sale will go to the PTO’s Power of Play Campaign to purchase playground equipment to accommodate children of all abilities at the new Greystone Elementary School. The special equipment is expensive, PTO members explained to Rotarians at a recent lunch meeting. For example, one part of the equipment alone costs $26,000.

Fruit may be purchased from West Chester Rotarians, from Greystone PTO members or by going to the fruit sale link on the Rotary Club of West Chester website. In addition to a variety of citrus and other fruits, supporters can purchase a box of fresh vegetables. Fruit may also be purchased for donation to the West Chester Food Cupboard, and will be delivered by Rotarians. Deadline to purchase fruit is February 20th according to Fruit Sale chair, Christine Wildauer. Thanks to Randy Lindel for the photo.
