For the lucky members who purchased ”A Night in Paris” dinner during the live auction at the presidential induction earlier this year, it was a special evening indeed! Hosted by Catherine Freidman, Deb Sparre and Phyllis Dunn at Catherine’s comfortable home, it was an evening to remember.

Phyllis handled the cocktail portion with hors d’oeuvres, French 75 Cocktails, salmon pate, salad and Gougeres, while the Jazz Trio, Catherine as vocalist, Rob Sparre on piano, and John Braceland on guitar, entertained the guests. Catherine prepared the dinner of Velvet Garlic Soup, Boeuf Bourguinon (Julia Childs recipe!), and Haricots Vert. Deb provided the dessert, Tarte Tatin, while the Jazz Trio entertained again. All foods were paired with appropriate wines. Makes your mouth water to hear this menu, doesn’t it?

Lucky guests included Jeff and Ann Spencer, Jennie McGinn, Dan Dunn, Carol Hanson and Dennis Wallace, Mickey Hall and Joanne Tadeo.

With dinners like this being offered, there are sure to be more Rotarians bidding on the special dinners at future auctions!
