5/14 - With a last-minute change, our speaker will be:

 Ashley Plasha from Friends Association for the Care and Protection of Children talking about their Rapid Rehousing Program.

• The Rapid Rehousing Program is a short-term subsidy program that can assist individuals and families for up to 24 months (lifetime).  

• The Rapid Rehousing Program provides rental assistance for families to keep them stably housed. The participants in the program are responsible for paying a minimum of 30% of their gross monthly income (all members in the family over 18 years old) 

• The Rapid Rehousing Program provides extensive case management to the participants in the program. This includes, but is not limited to, budgeting, job searching, and daily life skills.  

• We incorporate the Housing First Model, which allows us to stably house a participant and then begin searching for employment, etc. This model has been proven to decrease chronic homelessness and increase housing stability.
