BRIAN'S RUN 2007

Brian's run 2007 was in character cool, damp, and snowy; but West Chester Rotarian's came through as they have for the past two decades. Shown is Rotarian Dave Biffen with umbrella giving direction to runners getting ready to load the shuttle bus behind Sykes Student Union Building at WCU.

Rotarian Lance Knauth fills cups of water in preparation for race finishers exiting the stadium.

Rotarians helped staff the food service at the race. Here Rotarian Joe Polito takes a well deserved break.

As in past years, Brian braves the weather to support the cause that bears his name.

BRIAN'S RUN 2005

Brian's run 2005 was cool, damp, and snowy; but West Chester Rotarian's came through as they have for the past two decades.

Runners we not impeded by the less than ideal weather.

Rotarian's helped to set up the food for the runners at the end of the race.

Rotarians also staffed the tables during the event.

RACE DATE: 12/04/05

Originally planed to be a one time event Brian's Run is now preparing for the 27th running of the race to raise money for area people with physical, sight or hearing challenges to cover the gap between what insurance will pay and what it really costs. Brian's Run has grown from the original 10K race to include a One Mile Fun Run/Walk; a One Mile Children's Run and a growing 5K Race. The 10K race now attracts International Runners and has been voted one of the Top 100 10k's in the U. S.

The Rotary Club of West Chester has been involved with Brian's Run since the beginning. Over the years Rotary's participation has grown to where we are the event sponsor. Rotarians have become an integral part of the event. But, for any event to grow and flourish it takes a combination of experience and enthusiasm. New ideas are paramount to the success on an on-going event. Such is the case of Brian's Run.

The Rotary Club of West Chester's Brian's Run Committee needs old and new faces to volunteer. Experience has led us to form committees so that most jobs only take a few hours of your time prior to race day.

The Committees are; Application & Sign Distribution; Service Club Notification; One Mile Run/Schools; Gym Set Up; Transportation; Fruit & H2O Prep & Distribution. Food Distribution; Cleanup.

I will be contacting those that have served in the past, but we would also like to ask anyone else that would like to contribute ideas, suggestions and help to contact Ken Hickman by phone (610-359-1234 Work), email (ken@graphsrch.com) or in person at the meetings.

Brian's Run is truly a Community Event where you feel good during and after the event. Your help is needed and greatly appreciated.
